Leather maintenance and cleaning

Both the natural leather and fabric upholstery require systematic and appropriate maintenance to ensure a long life and effective appearance of furniture. In case of sofas upholstered with fabric (of stain-resistant properties) for regular care it is sufficient to vacuum with a home vacuum cleaner equipped with soft topper and remove stains with lightly wetted wipe. The preparations used for the care of Gala Collezione which facilitate dirt removal and leather maintenance, providing the leather with softness, gloss and beautiful appearance, will help in maintaining the natural leather.

The sets of preparations used for the care of Gala Collezione natural leathers have been developed jointly with a reputable research centre – Lederzentrum. These include:

cleaning preparation SOFT CLEAN (removes most stains and soiling),
maintenance preparation LV PROTECTOR (impregnates the surface and protects it, inter alia, against abrasion and cracking).

Positive effects of these preparations on the maintenance of long life of natural leather have been confirmed in the performed tests. We cannot take responsibility for the effects of cleaning preparations other than recommended ones because their activity has not been tested by us.

Note: we recommend cleaning all the types of leathers from the current Gala Collezione offer (Madras, Pegaso, Federica, Massif and Granada) with a dedicated set of preparations in a white box. Although the Extra leather in no longer available in our offer you still can buy a preparation for cleaning it (in a black box).

How properly clean natural leather furniture?

The first furniture maintenance should be carried out immediately after the purchase when a piece of furniture has been delivered to your home. This allows removal of possible post-production soiling and other dirt occurred during transport. Then the cleaning and maintenance treatment should be performed every 3-4 months at least.

Step 1: Create foam by means of a foam-making bottle with SOFT CLEAN preparation and apply the foam onto the sponge.

How properly clean natural leather furniture?

Step 2: Clean gently in circular motions, avoid strongly rubbing. Do not apply the preparation directly onto the leather.

Step 3: Let a piece of furniture dry for 2 hours at least.

Step 4: Apply – LV-PROTECTOR maintenance preparation on the wipe.

Step 5: Distribute gently the preparation over the surface, from seam to seam.

Step 6: Let a piece of furniture dry for 10 hours at least.
